Welcome to mahmoudnasser.se
I am Mahmoud Nasser, a 32 years old Software Engineer from Malmö, Sweden.
From a young age, I’ve been passionate about technology, computers, and programming, a fascination that started with my love for video games. Whether it was the NES, a second-hand Windows 3.1 PC, or the PlayStation 1 and Playstation 2, gaming sparked my curiosity long before I learned to code.
Before diving into formal programming, I spent my early years tinkering — building simple 'games' in PowerPoint, experimenting with VBA scripts, customizing Windows XP with themes and icons, and even designing themes for my Sony Ericsson phone.
During my early teens, I experienced the dawn of the internet — MSN, early Web 2.0 social media, and a multitude of flash game and video websites. Fascinated by how things worked, I would dig into the source code of web pages and track down *.swf files for flash games to save and play offline, as we didn’t yet have a home internet connection. When we finally did, I set up a local-hosted website using Microsoft IIS, where I shared my favorite flash games and mp3 songs.
These early hands-on experiences laid the foundation for my journey into software development.
As I approached upper secondary school, I chose a specialized program that balanced my interest in technology with my long-term goal of studying at the engineering faculty of Lund University. This program combined academic subjects with vocational courses like web design, programming, electronics, and PLC programming, further solidifying my path toward software engineering.
This website you’re visiting now is, in a way, a continuation of that early project from my teens—hosting and sharing things I’ve created or found interesting over the years. Though it might not see frequent updates, it reflects my passion for technology and the projects that have shaped my journey.
